One of the great things about shooting Weddings in Vancouver, is that there are so many gorgeous venues for a Wedding. Each unique, and full of it’s own character, and sometimes, like we found when shooting at Hycroft Mansion, the setting is such a strong influence on the Wedding that it shapes the vision for the day. For Jaime and John, their Wedding was full of simple elegance, with a touch of a daydream-like whimsy. Beautiful, soft, and sweet. In short, a perfect day.
Here is how Hycroft met us that sleepy Spring morning…
Just loved how the magnolias were perfect that day…
Alongside the strong masculine lines of the mansion, are the most pretty and feminine rooms. Truly a delight, and we were so excited to start the day!
Speaking of masculine, here are the guys! John chose his brother to be his best man, and you could tell that they have such a great friendship.
John greeting guests as they arrive.
Jaime is so sweet, even on the day of her Wedding she thought to ask us if we needed anything. Her she is, calm and composed.
Loved that the glass doorknob into the solarium where Jaime was getting ready was the perfect shade of purple to match her Wedding colors.
Chris noticed this tryptic painting in the foyer, and was inspired to try something similar with the gorgeous Jaime.
Then, on to their fun and emotional ceremony. Since having a daughter ourselves, I take an even closer look at the parents of the bride and groom on their Wedding Day. I love the range of emotion Jaime’s father showed in the few moments before the ceremony began, from excitement and anticipation, to the realization that one of the most special moments of her life was about to occur.
Also, the look on John’s face when he saw Jaime that day.
An indoor ceremony at Hycroft is stunning. The light pours in, and the room just glows.
Jaime and John’s officiant was hilarious! A real character, and such a treat!
Married! Time to party!
Then, around Hycroft for some portraits.
Off to Granville Island for a completely different look and feel…
And one of the last images from the day. One of the reasons why Jaime and John chose Granville Island for their Wedding Day Portrait Session was because the little JJ Bean coffee shop was where they warmed up with some hot chocolate on their first date. How fitting that J+J would end up here on their Wedding Day!
